About this Project:

A cookbook or cookery book is a kitchen reference containing recipes.
Cookbooks may be general or may specialize in a particular cuisine or category of food.

Recipes in cookbooks are organized in various ways: by course (appetizer, first course, main course, dessert), by main ingredient, by cooking technique, alphabetically, by region or country, and so on. They may include illustrations of finished dishes and preparation steps; discussions of cooking techniques, advice on kitchen equipment, ingredients, and substitutions; historical and cultural notes; and so on.

Cookbooks may be written by individual authors, who may be chefs, cooking teachers, or other food writers; they may be written by collectives; or they may be anonymous. They may be addressed to home cooks, to professional restaurant cooks, to institutional cooks, or to more specialized audiences.

Some cookbooks are didactic, with detailed recipes addressed to beginners or people learning to cook particular dishes or cuisines; others are simple aide-memoires, which may document the composition of a dish or even precise measurements, but not detailed techniques

Change to the Mac and Cheese page layout to match Bolognese and Spaghetti taco page, Page 83, Mac and Cheese, “Note: a Butter Can be used to thicken up the sauce” – should be changed to Note: butter can be used to thicken sauce. split the page into 2 having the text into the top half and the image in the bottom half. As it looks a little unresolved the way it is currently. (I am not too sure what they meant)

To Fix:

Recipe Book

• On the right page, the first order of hierarchy is the QR codes, so to make them less of a focus; why not try changing their colour and scaling them down so that they do not compete with the copy? Perhaps minimise the point size of the page number slightly so that it does not outweigh the header itself.

• Could line up the bowl (of milk?) in the top left with the image on the top right, as this curved edge would make the images appear more intentional. – changed this image instead

• The two methods of cooking need to be articulated more clearly as at first, I didn’t realise it was two different recipes to make the same dish. Maybe a description that explains that you can make it with stove top or microwave. Or making them equal in level on the page to express they are both for mac and cheese but different methods.

• Recipe fixed to be clearer and read easier – showing 2 types of ways to make this dish.
